What is CDR?

Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) is a report which demonstrates your competency to Engineers Australia. Also, it is an essential requirement for immigration process of Australia for Engineers. You need to prepare the CDR in a typical style and format for successful skill assessment from Engineers Australia.

In easy language, CDR is a report which contains all details about your career including your study, jobs, projects on various jobs, work done by you, professional courses you attended/completed, and any other information which can prove that you are well established person in your job and your relative engineering discipline.

It includes three career episodes which means you need to share three important projects of your entire job period. In addition, it contains summary statement which details the competency elements claimed by you in all three career episodes. The last part of CDR is one Continuous Professional Development (CPD) which shows how you are boosting your knowledge in your relative engineering discipline and how much you are keen to excel in your job and learning process

    Dear Concern,

I have completed my B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2011 and have been working (full time) in Pharmaceutical Industries in Bangladesh since June, 2011. During my Undergraduate level I completed a Mechanical Project and a one year long thesis (on Fluid Mechanics). So, can I include these two in my CDR? Again, my responsibility in job is to perform regular activities in factory such as performing regular calibration, preparing protocols for validation activities in pharmaceuticals, performing IQ, OQ, PQ for newly installed machines and utilities (HVAC system, PW, Compressed air etc.). I mean my responsibility is to perform regular activities not in the project department. So, how to give such responsibilities in CDR? Please let me know.

    Thanks and regards
